Full Name: Cormac Liam McLaggen Nicknames: Mac Age: 26 Years Old DoB: October 23rd, 1978 Gender: Male Ethnicity: British Blood Status: Halfblood Occupation: Keeper for Puddlemere United Current Residence: The Kinsley [Suite 763], Bloomsbury Way, London Wand: 10 1/2 inches, Cedar, Ashwinder Ash Alumni Of: Gryffindor [1990-1997] Special Abilities: Does having a ridiculously high view of himself count? Height: 5 feet 11 inches Weight: 206 lbs Hair Color: Light Brown Eye Color: Blue Played By: Jensen Ackles Defining Traits: Cormac is the typical outdoors kind of guy. Standing at five feet, eleven inches, his hair is usually cut short and his skin (no matter the season) has a ridiculously nice tan. His most noticeable characteristic? His lopsided and often smug smile. Cormac has an attitude the size of Dublin and it shows in the way he carries himself. Even without the training schedule for the Puddlemere team, Cormac has always been obsessed with looking perfect and did what he could to make sure that when he didn’t have a shirt on, he looked better than anyone else around. Quidditch training has only helped him along with that. Clothing Styles/Colors: When he’s not on the Quidditch pitch, Cormac can be found in a pair of jeans, a fitted t-shirt, an open shirt over top of it, and when he feels like going the extra distance to sexy, a brown leather jacket. As obsessed as Cormac is with his appearance, it isn't all that surprising that he knows a thing or two about clothing. The greatest thing about Muggle fashion is that they do so much more for highlighting one's physical traits then Wizarding fashion. How would anyone be able to see his arse when it's swimming in a bunch of loose fabric? Wizarding Robes? No, thank you. General Likes: Himself, food, sarcasm, women, quidditch, brooms, winning, attention General Dislikes: Clingy girls, Ron Weasley, losing, not getting what he wants, nagging Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual Boggart: A less then perfect version of himself. Patronus: Hammerhead Shark Collections: Cormac has a ridiculously large collection of brooms. He enjoys testing out different models and even has a few antique models in his collection, including an original 1901 Moontrimmer. Magical Strengths: When it comes to magical strengths, Cormac was always good with the quick and obvious forms of magic: Charms, transfigurations, and Defence Against the Dark Arts. It was the forms of magic that offered an instant gratification, which speaks a lot about his personality. Magical Weaknessess: As one can imagine, Cormac was never good with the more subtle forms of magic. Potions, Arithmancy, even Herbology wasn’t something he had much use for. It took too long to get what he wanted and, therefore, he didn’t spend much time perfecting. Astrological Sign: Scorpio - Expect stamina, incredible courage, intense and stormy emotions, burning idealism, and indomitable will. Gryffindor Scorpios are never drawn in shades of pastel; they are always blood red and mesmerizing gold. There are few followers born under these aspects; Scorpios born into this house tend to be either leaders or loners. They are well placed on the Quidditch field, where their natural competitive streak and their great store of personal energy make them natural Beaters (or, really, naturals at any position on the field). Expect them to get into frequent duels, and expect them to gravitate naturally to DADA, for all Scorpios are fascinated by anything dark and forbidden, and Gryffindor Scorpios will want to take their place as defenders as early in their careers as possible. Expect passion. Expect wisdom. But don't expect a lot of time to take a breather. Many people born under this aspect also end up as Aurors; they're the perfect "bad cops" to the "good cop" Libra wizards. | Cormac was born the first and only child to Annalise and Anthony McLaggen. Annalise had always wanted a dozen children, but do to an unfortunate circumstance, any further children would put her health in too much danger. She’d tried to talk Anthony into taking the chance for another child, but he stubbornly refused. He didn’t want to run the chance of loosing her as well as any child they might conceive. Knowing that she would never be able to have another, Annalise took to spending as much time with her infant son as she possible could. Cormac was the apple of both his parent’s eyes and was ridiculously spoiled, which didn’t stop even as he grew out of the toddler stage. By the time Cormac arrived at Hogwarts, he had four brooms in his collection and had several signed autographs from Quidditch players such as Finbar Quigley and the Broadmoore brothers. Given his father’s administrative position for the Appleby Arrows, Cormac grew up with a particularly keen interest in Quidditch, an interest that often outstretched his talents. Once Cormac arrived at Hogwarts, his attitude was well on its way to being self-absorbed. It was difficult to think of other people as being equals when your parents constantly told you that you were the most important thing out there. After awhile you started to believe it. After twelve years it was pretty much written in stone, as far as he was concerned. Unfortunately, not everyone at Hogwarts seemed to agree with him. More then once did he find himself in McGonagall’s office being lectured for fighting with other students. Nine times out of ten, it was the other houses he was fighting with. Not very often did he get into fights with other Gryffindors. There was one time in first year when he’d gotten into an argument with a roommate that had led to blows, but it had been broken up rather quickly. Kenneth Towler had stepped into stop them and Cormac had hit him by mistake, which earned him a good punch in return. After that, the two were all but inseparable. Where one went, the other was sure to follow. It wasn’t until his second year that Harry Potter and the bane of his existence, Ronald Weasley, arrived at Hogwarts. It was also the year that Hogwarts started to become far more interesting than a boarding school really should be. From the moment, the scrawny Potter showed up things started to go wrong. The brat made the Quidditch team before he did, Quirrell decided he was going to host Lord Voldemort, The chamber of Secrets was opened, Sirius Black escaped Azkaban, Voldemort returned, Dolorus Umbridge was posted at Hogwarts, Dumbledore was Murdered, and the bloody Dark Lord hosted an attack on the school. Why they didn’t just kick the kid out back in first year, Cormac didn’t really know, but that’s definitely what he would have done. For the most part, Cormac chose to ignore Potter’s very existence, but that went down the drain in his sixth year. With Oliver Wood on the team, there was no way that Cormac was going to make Keeper. If he wanted the spot he was going to have to wait until the Quidditch captain graduated. He’d waited an entire six years to get that spot and then that freckle covered Weasley trash stole it out from underneath him. He would have been a shoe in for Keeper had he not been hit with a confundus charm. He knew Weasley wasn’t very good, but to cheat to earn a spot, Cormac hadn’t been expecting that. It was something that made him hate the redhead all the more. That was also the year that Hermione Granger had caught his attention. Gone was the ridiculously bush hair and large front teeth. They’d been replaced with a slightly tamer version of her hair and perfectly filed teeth, not to mention a body most girls would kill to have. He’d even managed to snag a date with her to Professor Slughorn’s party. The downside? She was bloody obsessed with Weasley. What she saw in the idiot was beyond him. With Ron taking not only the Keeper position but Hermione’s attention, Cormac started to look for ways to get to the younger Gryffindor, including dating Lavender Brown right after she’d split from him. It had lasted a few months, but quickly died out after that. Sure, Lavender was hot, but he’d been more worried about making Ron angry then actually dating her. Needless to say, when the time came, he was rather glad to leave Hogwarts (and Weasley) behind him. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what he wanted to do after Hogwarts. Seeing as he didn’t get to play in school, he was damn well going to play now. Unlike most other possible players, | Cormac didn’t do the wide variety of tryouts. No, he was much too impatient for that sort of thing. He landed his original position with the Appleby Arrows through his Father’s connections. He had no qualms with having his way bought onto the team. Once he was in, he didn’t need to worry about any further bribes. He’d move among the teams on his own until he was playing on a worthwhile team. It surely wouldn’t take him all that long. In the end it took him, six years to reach his current position with the Falcons, moving through positions with the Appleby Arrows, Wigtown Wanderers, and the Kenmare Kestrals before finally reaching a team worthy of his skills. He’s been with the team since Pre-Season of 2003 and doesn’t see himself going anywhere in the near future. Who would trade him anyway? FAMILY Anthony Douglas McLaggen - Cormac doesn’t really have a relationship with his Father. He lived up to his Father’s expectations and he got what he wanted. He’s never really questioned their relationship or looked into developing it more than that. It’s a business arrangement at it’s finest and could definitely be described as one of the reason behind his cocky attitude. A guy tends to think he’s on top of the world when he’s handed whatever he wants. He stops in to see his Father every once in a while, but with his Quidditch career still in its beginning stages, he doesn’t particularly need Daddy’s money. Besides, he has to have something left to inherit. Annalise Marie McLaggen - Cormac doesn't mind spending the odd day with his mother. The reason? He's the only child of a woman who wanted a bus full of children. Annalise dotes on Cormac something awful, which certainly doesn't do much for his "I get what I want" attitude. Unlike his father, Annalise prefers to be an active figure in Cormac's life, which can tend to drive him a bit crazy ... particularly when he has visitors. Needless to say, she can no longer apparate or floo directly into his home. ROMANCE Lavender Brown - [7th Year] - After her relationship with Ron ended, Cormac didn't waste a whole lot of time moving in. It certainly helped that Lavender was attractive, but he was thinking more along the lines of showing up Ron ... which is probably why the relationship didn't go very far. Cormac is quite vain when it comes to his looks and there really wasn't a whole lot of time to spare for his relationship. FRIENDS Kenneth Towler - Same year. Same house. It's a match in the making. Cormac, may not have had much time to focus on something other then himself, but even he needs a wingman and Kenneth lived up to expectations. Whether they were checking out girls, sleeping in class, or messing with Peeves, these two had a blast. They're busy with their careers now that they've graduated, but they still have Beer and Wings night.
